The NOAA Estuarine Habitats and Coastal Fisheries Center
The NOAA Estuarine Habitats and Coastal
Fisheries Center at Lafayette, Louisiana is
a state-of-the-art science facility. The
facility is designed to include ecology,
chemistry, genetics and necropsy
laboratories, and a seawater laboratory for
live animal culture. It is adjacent to the
USGS National Wetlands Research Center and
the University of Louisiana at Lafayette,
providing nearby support in cooperative
research.

The facility also includes office and
laboratory space currently in use by the
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S.
Department of Agriculture Natural Resources
Conservation Service, U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers and the U.S. Geological Service
